2009 11 17 Some updates. Official Saint Vox PV "Don't Leave Me This Way".

VIDEO SHOOT
I really enjoyed the video shoot! We shot the video in Tokyo, with a very talented well known Japanese team. The director was Kubo Shigeaki and has quite an impressive past working with stars like Celine Dion, Yuna Ito, and Exile. He was very passionate about his ideas and made it very easy for everyone to do their jobs well.
There are two shots in the video that are always interesting to shoot, and also two of my favorites. One is the mirrored room. Basically when you shoot this, they lock you in a mirrored box, which ends up heating up to over 100 degrees because of the lights, and you also can't see the camera. It is incredibly uncomfortable and it feels super weird to perform to a thousand images of yourself and no camera.
It feels like being in a house of mirrors at a circus. Regardless of the discomfort I always love the results of these shots, and am always happy I suffered thru it. The other is the wrap around dolly shot. When you film this, you stand in the middle of a circular camera track, and the camera whizzes around you at an incredibly high speed. It feels like singing to a jet flying around you! I loved having Emiri to perform with on screen, since it's been years since I have had the chance to collaborate in a video.
We had a lot of fun hanging out backstage together when we had breaks from shooting. The only thing that was wrong on that day was that there were a lot of mosquitos on set! And I am allergic to mosquitos, so I was lucky I didn't have a bad reaction!

PHOTO SHOOT
The photoshoot took place in a wonderful studio in Tokyo. The team on the set that day were fantastic and especially the photographer was a real treat to work with. The styling session for the shoot was probably the most fun. Emiri and I had a ton of clothes to choose from, and it was fun dressing up together. Afterwards we all went for sushi, and enjoyed Tokyo!
